Watching Jade Goody Die

Most of us know Jade Goody as the young loud not so clever girl who won the hearts of thousands in Big Brother. We have watched her live her life in fame and now it seems we are going to watch her die in the public eye as well. Jade is a 27 year young mum who found out whilst she was on a tv programme that she had cervical cancer. And now as her cancer is terminal and has been told she has only months to live she has decided to let the media follow her as she dies to ensure that a nest egg is there for her children’s future.

I don’t know if I agree with Jade’s decision to show the world her on her death bed, is this not taking reality tv just a tad too far? I do respect the fact that she is trying her best to secure her children’s future.

A lot of people that I know don’t like Jade and I don’t particularly like her either, but I’ve yet to find someone who doesn’t feel some sort of pity for a 27 year old young woman in the prime of her life with two beautiful children about to lose it all.

My heart goes out to Jade, and I hope that for the very short time that she has left she lives her life to the full and makes the most of her children, her partner Jack and is happy.

What I also hope as well is that more women take notice and get tested. It’s not nice having a smear test, but I think I would prefer a few seconds of pain rather than a short lived life because I missed a smear test.
